Exterior super hydrophobic waterproof paints & coatings help protect your home
Testing has proven that a damp content of 5% in a normal brick wall, can reduce the insulation performance by as much as 50%, especially when it's a cavity wall filled with insulation. Materials such as natural stone and brick are porous, meaning even though it looks as though water runs off of them, they will allow a certain amount of water ingress, they usually also have good insulating properties due to air filled cavities, which offer low thermal conductivity, but this is only effective when they are dry.

So by creating a hydrophobic barrier on the outside of your brick wall, for example, you can decrease the amount of water that enters the material and increase the natural insulating benefits of it!

It Still Breathes!

It is extremely important that brick and stone materials can still breath to allow moisture to escape areas like wall cavities. Even though the products we use are hydrophobic, they still the treated surface to breath.
ProPERLA Masonry Crème does not restrict the ability of the building to breathe. Water vapor permeability testing was conducted in accordance with BS EN ISO 7783:2011 and it demonstrated that the coating had little effect on the vapor diffusion of the substrate

Application of PropERLA Masonry Crème protects the walls and cavities by keeping them dry whilst allowing air and moisture to escape. It maintains the important capability of the building envelope to breathe. Unlike some stone and brick sealing products, it does not block the pores of the masonry by coating them with a thin film.
